Title
Kostos
Description
It is warming and diuretic, expels the menstrual flow, and is good for diseases of the uterus applied in suppositories or as warm packs. Two ounces ,taken in a drink, helps someone bitten by a viper, chest conditions and convulsions. It is given for gas in the stomach with wine and wormwood, taken with mead it draws out venom, and taken in water it draws out worms through the rectum. An ointment of it made with oil helps those who have chills from fever before an expected fit, and similarly helps the paralysed. Rubbed on with water or honey it takes away sunburn.
