Description

It is diuretic, bringing down the menstrual flow, and dissolving gaseousness. The flowers of it used in drink are good for bloody vomiting and a painful stomach, as well as the lungs, liver and kidneys. The root is more is given for a squeamish stomach. One teaspoonful is good for edema and convulsions, and is given for some days with the same amount of pepper. A decoction of it as a hip bath is most convenient for inflammation around the vulva.
